Rossington race ace Graham Briggs is heading to France for a squad challenge following his latest win in the Elite Circuit Series.

Rapha Condor JLT rider Briggs rounded off the series with victory in the Wales Open Criterium in Chepstow recently.

The 31-year-old, who also won the third round of the series in Colne last month, took the honours ahead of Team Raleigh’s George Atkins and Rapha team-mate Chris Opie who finished third.

Briggs is next part of a six-man Rapha squad that will take on the Kreitz Breitz Elite stage race in Brittany.

On his Welsh victory, his ninth win this season, Briggs said: “I had a bit of bad luck in the last couple of races, with mechanics and what-not, so I wanted to make sure I showed what I was made of.

“It was a tough circuit, but nothing was going away. I tried a little dig, but as soon as I knew it wasn’t happening, I didn’t waste energy on it and I saved everything for the sprint.”
