Rotherham Town B held on to the leading position in the Ben Bailey Homes South Yorkshire’s Division Two despite losing to Sheffield United B.
United batted first but could only muster 131 for seven in their 46 overs. Lewis Hobbs, one of their nine juniors, top-scored with 43 and Davis Mace took three for 25.
Jonathan Allan (32) and Alexander Staveley (27) provided Rotherham with a positive start, but there was little afterwards and they were all out for 121.
Doncaster Town B scored 200 for 6 against Wickersley B. Paul Silvester opened with 53, Matthew Head scored 58 and Mark Dickinson 30.
In reply, Wickersley were bowled out for 57. Eighteen-year-old Jack Eggleston top-scored with 29 and the main damage was inflicted by Alan Stoves with five for 13. Another youngster Jonathan Cowan took three for 32.
Conisbrough B moved into the third promotion place in Division Three after beating Tickhill B at St Peter’s Drive.
Tickhill batted first but could only muster 118, with Steve Barson top-scoring with 31. Their total was confined thanks to some good bowling from Craig Jackson (4-33) and Mark Neale’s 5-34.
Conisbrough’s path to success was not all plain sailing and it took 33 from William Finney and seven wickets before they passed Tickhill’s total. Jon Boden took four for 24.
Bradfield B continued their unbeaten record and leadership of Division Four but not before Mexborough gave them a good contest.
Thanks to Howard Mee’s 44, Bradfield ended 159 all out. Zaheer Khalil took four for 46.
Opener Michael Faley give Mexborough a good start with 39 as a stand between Ryan Tingle (20) and Zaiem Khalil (40) took the score to 132 for 5 before being all out for 147- 12 runs short.
