Conisbrough B moved into the third promotion place in the Ben Bailey Homes South Yorkshire League’s Division Three after beating Tickhill B, writes James Beachill.
Tickhill batted first but could only muster 118, with Steve Barson top scoring with 31.
Their total was confined thanks to some good bowling from Craig Jackson (four for 33) and Mark Neale (five for 34).
Conisbrough’s path to success was not all plain sailing and it took 33 from William Finney and seven wickets before they passed Tickhill’s total. Jon Boden took four for 24.
Upper Haugh B’s batting line-up crashed again, this time against Frecheville at Wentworth road and for the small total of 40.
Frecheville bowlers Jake Kempton (5 for 15) and David Clayton (4 for 8) had an excellent day.

At Brinsworth, Phoenix reached the same points total as Rotherham Town B after beating Aston Hall B.
Aston batted first and lost their first three batsmen with just 11 runs between them.
Skipper Matt Shephard (33) and 8 fours from 16 year old Luke Hall (42) rallied the middle part of the innings. This enabled a final score of 150.
David Judge took three for 32.
Phoenix were wobbling at 31 for three but skipper John Ashton found a partner in Rob Higgins (38) and they added 101 for the fourth wicket.
Ashton was still in possession at the close with 12 fours in his 82 not out.
Phoenix won with six wickets to spare and Richard Stump took the four wickets that fell for a reward of 4 for 33.
Elsecar B and Bradfield jointly occupy joint third place in Division Two after they fought out a close and dramatic game at Armroyd Lane.
Bradfield batted first and thanks to Paul Garnet’s 66, including 11 fours, and 48 from Willie Thom, they amassed a total of 205 for 6.
Steve Taylor took three for 45 for Elsecar.
Adrian Meadows (53) and Ethan Gray (38) added 67 for the first wicket in Elsecar’s response.
Luke Aitkin hit a quickfire 36 and in the dramatic final overs, Elsecar fell 2 runs short of Bradfield’s total.
Robert Mace took four for 48 Bradfield.
Collegiate B scored 125 for six at Goldthorpe against Dearne. Jonathan Walmsley scored 34 and Daniel Turner 30.
In response Dearne collapsed to 57 all out. Jim Lomas took six for 30.
Barnsley C batted first against Norton Oakes B at Oakes Park. Christopher Pickford top scored with 30 in their total of 133 all out. Itikash Arun took four for 43.
In reply Norton were confounded by the bowling of Harsha Perera , who claimed four for 15 and were bundled out for just 57.
In a low scoring match at the David McKee ground, Phoenix B batted first and scored 92 against Rotherham Town C.
Skipper Danny Morton opened with 33 and for Rotherham Luke Staveley took six for 35 and Adam Bashford three for 18.
Rotherham Town couldn’t match the requirements when they batted and succumbed to 55 all out. Tom Wilson had an excellent day claiming 8 for 18.
