Carcroft Village checkout in style with John ‘Boy’

CARCROFT Village Club hit the bullseye in the Bentley Ladies’ Thursday Night Charity Darts League when winning the League title.

The team, who received the trophy from former BDO world champion John ‘Boy’ Walton at the league’s presentation evening at the Co-op Club, had 12 points to spare over runners-up Park Social (149), who in turn were pushed hard by Rhino’s (147).

Carcroft also won the Nine-a-side title.

They were also runners-up to York Bar in the 4-2-1 Cup and Park Social B in the Three-a-side Trophy finals.

Rhino’s beat Park Social in the Five-a-side Trophy. Social fared better in the Secretary’s Cup, beating Co-op Club, runners-up to Carcroft, in the final.

Julie Harrison and Anne Bathgate (Park Social) beat Carcroft Village Club pairing Ann Parkin-Coates and Anne Phillips in the Doubles final.

Tanya Hooton (Park Social) got the better off Sian Wingfield (West End) in the Under-30s final. York Bar’s Linda Tierney beat Julie Harrison (Park Social) in the Over 30 & Under 50 final.

Jet’s Marge Tonge saw off the challenge of Ami Moss (Rhino’s) in the Over-50s final.

Sue Brown (York Bar) defeated league secretary Cynthia Bunting (Co-op Club) in the Over-60s final.

Alma Wallace lifted the Singles Trophy following her victory over Debbie Maddison (Rhino’s).

Wallace, who achieved the feat twice, also picked up the 180 Trophy.

Maddison and Bunting shared the honours in the Shortest Game Trophy,

Bunting (146) won the award for the highest check-out.
