RELEGATED Brodsworth Main continued their excellent start in Pontefract and District League Division Four with a second successive victory.
Brodsworth, who finished bottom of Division Three last year after winning just six matches, maintained their 100 per cent record by crushing Monk Bretton A.
Jordan Midgeley (40) led Brodsworth to 122-9 and Karl Buxton, signed last month from South Yorkshire League club Dearne, bagged 5-9 as Monk Bretton were routed for 42 in reply.
Brodsworth’s Mick Cassinelli and Adrian Price each claimed two wickets and Josh Bell chipped in with 1-17.
Promoted Peglers, whose opening game was abandoned the previous week, recorded their first victory by beating Bullcroft Main, who were skittled for 54, replying to 161-9 that featured a half-century by Matthew Bedford.
Andy Fairclough and Keiran Greening shared an unbroken century stand as Sprotbrough salvaged a draw at South Kirkby in Division Two.
South Kirkby posted 220-3 after openers Jake Rimmington and James Scott (67) put on 140.
Mike Threapleton (2-52) was Sprotbrough’s most successful bowler. Sprotbrough’s reply was in trouble when Chris Beaumont (4-33) reduced them to 59-6 but the visitors were rescued by Fairclough (84no) and Greening (35no) as they held out at 159-6.
In Division Six, Hatfield A slumped to a second defeat after their batting again let them down.
After being bowled out for 122 at Sandal A the previous week, Hatfield were toppled for 52 on Saturday, chasing Wombell Main A’s 122.
There was no play in other matches involving Doncaster area teams in Saturday’s rain-hit programme.
