Doncaster Danum Eagles soared to the top of National League Division Four (Midlands) with a stunning overtime win at previously unbeaten Loughborough Student Riders II.
Eagles’ dramatic 86-80 victory on Sunday made it six wins out of six since they joined the National League.
A last second shot from Loughborough sent the game into overtime but Danum, for whom George Colwill shone with 22 points, held their nerve to consign the home side to their first defeat.
Head coach Bob Martin said: “We hit some huge shots in overtime and played inspired defence, which limited any chance for Loughborough.
“This was a team effort. Every single man contributed.
“We are growing as a club on the floor weekly,” he added.
“But we need the support of the community to take this to the next level.”
Eagles travel to Nottingham Hoods II on Saturday.
Meanwhile, new England Under 18 call-up Liam Knapp guided Eagles’ U18s to a 100-79 win at Leicester Warriors with a 38-point haul. Owen Bell scored 32 points in the U16s’ 100-69 win at Leeds Tigers.
