Barnsley Athletic Club celebrated first to third during this month’s hotly-contested Spencers Dash race.

The event, organised by Barnsley AC, is a 3.7-mile road race in Barugh Green held six times a year on the first Wednesday evening of the month between April and September.

July saw Noel Adkins take top honours in a PB time of 22.16. He now leads the series with 101 points.

Team-mates Dave Brooksbank and Tom White were not far behind in second and third with times of 22.23 and 22.35 respectively.

Other Barnsley members were Graham Bateson 12th in 25.05, Dave Allemby 15th in 25.31, Mark Wood 20th in 27.55, Trevor Townsend 31st in 30.45, Anne Bennett 36th in 34.52, Ray Archer 37th in 35.04, Lisa Isam 38th in 36.45 and Katrina D’Netto 39th in 36.59.

This season is the Dash’s 25th year and the September event should see the 150th running of the event.

Barnsley duo John Wroe and Dave Allemby have completed 119 out of 148 Dash races.
