The first of the Northern Open Indoor meetings takes place today at Sheffield’s English Institute of Sport.

City of Sheffield and Dearne’s top pole vaulters are looking to kick start their winter season with Sheffield-born Luke Cutts, 27, who set a British indoor record for the event last year, and 18-year-old Adam Hague going head to head.

Sheffield under 17 vaulter Josh Lindley-Harris is also competing whilst the club’s Abigail Roberts is in action in the women’s event.

Hallamshire’s 800 metres star, Tilly Simpson, now an under 17, tackles the 1,000 metres, an event that also includes City of Sheffield’s Joe Lancaster in the men’s race. Billie-Joe Harris (City of Sheffield) is the leading contender in the under 17 women’s 150 metres.

Meeting starts at 11am.
