Division One

UPPER Haugh continued their fine progress with victory in a high scoring clash at Fishlake.

Josh Ashton laid the groundwork for Haugh’s triumph with an impressive 83 run innings while Martyn Stacey produced 47 to help Haugh post an imposing 267-9.

Andy Shelton took 4-42 for Fishlake who could not quite match the required run rate.

Josh Mason hit 49 and Matthew Windass 43 to boost the total but they closed well short on 185-9.

Frickley Colliery managed to get three valuable points on the board despite a 93 run defeat at table topping Rothwell.

The hosts posted a healthy 256-6 in their innings, largely down to S Danby’s stylish 105 while S Booth added 35.

Phillip Howell claimed three wickets for Frickley whose response was largely in disarray.

Lovepreet Singh anchored the innings with 60 but the only other notable contributions were 27s from Steve Honeyman Jnr and Phillip Howell.

Frickley were skittled for 163 with E McDonald snaring 4-64 and B Russell 3-22.

Hooton Pagnell remain without a win after falling well short of the run rate against visiting Old Sharlston.

Dale McMullan’s 86 and R Kelsall’s 68 helped Sharlston post 206-8 despite a great spell of bowling from Shane Payne who claimed 4-36.

Alwyn Dyke’s 27 was the best the Hooton response got though Payne and Dave Kaye remained intact at the close on unbeaten 25 and 23s respectively.

Jason Ball claimed 3-29 as Hooton were kept at 153-8 at the end of the innings.
