Frenzee’s Steve Barraclough was top rod at an in-form Garbolino Lindholme as the golden peg prize fund continued to grow.
Barraclough won the first Saturday open of March, fished on Bonsai by 29, with 109-13-0 of carp caught on pole with pellet and corn fished to the island.
Runner up John Kenning (Garbolino Lindholme) was second with 89-7-0, followed by 3 Steve Dyson (Garbolino Lindholme) 79-14-0 and 4 Greg Norris (Garbolino Lindholme) 70-7-0.
Barraclough also recorded a second-place finish the previous Thursday.
His 79-11-0 was beaten only by Nick Speed (Shimano) who fished bomb and pellet for 96-6-0 of carp from peg 70 on Bonsai.
John Allerton (Tricast) 58-8-0 was third in the 21-peg match, followed by 4 Paul Christie (Garbolino Lindholme) 48-6-0.
The Sunday match, again on Bonsai, was won by Neil Fisher (Dynamite Baits) with 86-13-0 of carp caught on the pole with pellet from peg 61.
Runner up George Barbie (Hull) 76-8-0 finished ahead of 3 Nick Speed (Shimano) 75-5-0 and 4 Joe Golding (Lindholme) 67-7-0.
Garbolino’s golden peg fund has now grown to over £700.
As a result there are now five golden pegs per weekend match, which will continue until the prize pot falls below £300.
