ALISON Knowles continued her brilliant progress with a pair of remarkable achievements.
Knowles reached the final of the English Women’s Golf Association Championship after she carded a superb gross 72/nett 69 at the regional final.
The Hickleton GC 18-year-old will contest the final at Droightwich GC on June 25 after winning the event at Kirkby Lonsdale GC in Cumbria.
And she followed this up by breaking the course record at Wickham GC in the North of England Schoolgirl Championship.
Knowles carded a gross 73 on the morning round and gross 76 in the afternoon to win the event.
She will now represent the north in the next stage at Belton Park GC in Gainsborough on June 27.
Back at Knowles’ home course Hickleton, Lynn Crawford won the Constance Davies Vase stableford event with 37 points.
Second was Carole Thorp also with 37pts but Crawford had the better back nine.
The Atkinson’s Mixed Trophy better ball stableford was won by the pairing of Bryan McMahon and Niki Seddon with 43pts.
Phil Goodwin and Michelle Moran finished second with 41pts.
Jo Musson won the Catherine Bowl Ladies Medal with a nett 68, ahead of Sonya Sugden in second with nett 70.
Concluding the busy period of success for Hickleton was Maggie Fowler who landed a hole in one on the par three 10th at Stocksbridge GC.
