Adwick-le-Street see off local rivals to keep run going

ADWICK-le-Street continued their impressive late season run in the Solly Sports South Yorkshire Cricket Alliance League Premier Division, beating Doncaster rivals Parklands by 13 runs.

Put into bat, Adwick posted 171-7 with Luke Bishop top scoring with 56. Nigel Knowles (4-23) the pick of the bowling for Parklands.

Parklands produced a spirited run chase with Craig Taylor scoring a classy 80 as they finished on 158-9. Chris Jeeves took 3-43.

Kilnhurst 215-6 (Jonathan Green 80, Carl Wilkinson 31) romped to victory against Handsworth 104 all out. Dean Oxley (3-29) and David Plummer (3-26) did the damage.

Caribbean chased down Darfield’s 135 all out to win by six wickets. Saman Khursheed took 3-8 and Asif Iqbal 3-37. The Sheffield club (136-4) cruised to victory - Khursheed top scoring with 53 and Waheed Bhatti chipping in with 30.

Whiston Meths 148 all out (Andrew Broadhead 50, Steve Cowles 42) - John Otter (4-10) defeated Sheffield United (Andrew Leiper 43) by 38 runs. Michael Raleigh (3-28) and Andrew Broadhead (3-32) bowled Whiston to victory.

High Green (176-5) romped to a 95-run win over Telecom Sports, who had earlier made 81, in their Division One clash. Taylor took (4-35) and Jack Myers (3-17) shared seven on the Telecom wickets to fall.

Adwick-on-Dearne defeated Doncaster rivals Hampole and Skelbrooke by just 11 runs in a close-scoring game. Batting first, Adwick were restricted to 126 all out, Simon Askew top scoring with 55. Steven Vickerage took 3-39. Hampole (Vickerage 28, Stuart Stubbins 25) fell just short as Rob Lee took 3-22) Forgemasters (206 all out) defeated Wentworth (193-8) by 13 runs.
