Main book place in Montagu Cup final

COUNTY Senior League champions Wombwell Main have booked their place in the final of the Montagu Cup after a 3-0 win over Mexborough Pocket at Hampden Road.

Alex Naylor gave Main the lead before the break before Mark Harling doubled the advantage. Simon Chadburn missed from the spot for Wombwell but colleague Paul Cameron added the third to seal the win.

The result lost its gloss somewhat when Main substitute Adam Ford suffered a double fracture of his left leg in added time. Ford was awaiting an operation at Barnsley Hospital as we went to press.

Main will play Mexborough Sunday League side Westville in the final which takes place on Easter Monday at Hampden Road.
