BELLES' WIN KEEPS UP THE PRESSURE

The Belles, currently second in the Premier League, are just three points behind their southern leaders after having lost one of their five games so far.The victory over Liverpool came in blustery and overcast conditions, but despite that the game was an exciting one with end to end football to entertain the crowds. The Belles got the breakthrough first with an early goal from Mel Garside, who headed against the bar but netted the follow-up with an overhead kick.Karen Walker extended their lead to 2-0 with a great lob before Liverpool pulled one back from Marianne Catterill, which left 'keeper Leanne Hall with no chance.* This Sunday, the Belles will have to be at their best to overcome Millwall Lionesses, who although they are seventh, have only played three games and have conceded only two goals.* The Belles' Under 18s 'keeper Claire Johnstone has been called up to the Scotland squad for their game at Isreal next Wednesday.
