Winning start for Rangers in Alliance League

SKELLOW Rangers romped to a 5-2 awin t Armthorpe Albion in their Doncaster Sunday Alliance League Division One opener.

Sam Corner led the way with a hat-trick with Matthew Hutton also weighing in.

Balby Academy of Sport romped to a 6-1 win at Auckley. Keiran Ferguson also notched a hat-trick and there were single strikes by Gareth and Peter Dawson and Chris Waterhouse.

South Kirkby Reds won by the same score at FC Gatehouse (Ryan Malee). James Faulkiner (3) and Adrian Howe (2) led the way as Tank powered their way to a 7-4 win over Leger Lions. Tap Maker scored seven without reply at home to Wadworth Sports. Lee Peason claimed three of the goals with Carl Horsley (2), Ian McMahon and Lee Peate completing the rout.

It finished honours even in the 3-3 draw between Three Horsehoes United and Askern Railway (Ross Ascough 2, Simon Squire). Hatfield Town shared the spoils with Rossington Legion (Brendan Fletcher, Brad Atherton) in their opening Division Two clash. Carcroft Village (Shane Carver 2, Liam Bilston, Josh Brace) came away from Maltings (John Cooke) with a 4-1 win. FC Cumberland (Darren Erskine 2, Sean McCoy) beat Three Horseshoes Old Boys (David Flowitt) 3-1.

White Hart Colts, for whom Lee Pearce, Andrew Lord and Addison Ashworth netted, were held to a 3-3 draw by visiting Hatfield Woodhouse.

The Askern beat Bailey’s by the odd goal in nine in their Division Three opener. Ryan Laverick was Askern’s hat-trick hero with Lewis McCloy and Mark Stanley also netting. Jordan McCloy scored all four of Bailey’s consolation goals. Hesley drew 1-1 at Balby Rec. Willaspoons won 3-0 at Balby Rovers. Harvesters beat FC Ivanhoe (Andy Horrocks, Craig Dallas) 5-2. The Vault claimed a 3-1 win over The Crown Hotel (Dale Gibson).

Walton Wanderers pipped New Mallard by the odd goal in three thanks to goals by Chris Kellett and Marcel Chipamaonga. Arskey Victoria got their Division Four campaign off to a winning start with a 5-2 success over Ryecroft Rovers. Kevin McEwan, Nick Lamb, Stan Krco, Antonio Jerge-Severn and Jamie Barnes all netted. Cask Corner scored ten without reply at Warren House Warriors.
