Sprotbrough opened up a five-point gap at the top of the Doncaster Sunday Alliance League Premier Division table as they won and their only serious rivals drew.

Daniel Taylor bagged a brace in the leaders’ 5-2 win at lowly Inter Stella, with Paul Toomey, Callum Smith and Matthew Mears also chipping in. Alex Dougall and Liam Taylor replied.

Graceholme, for whom Daniel White netted, had to settle for a share of the spoils from a 1-1 draw at Bentley Top Club (Michael Attard).

With Canal Tavern (Craig Smith) losing 2-1 at home to Rhino’s (Wayne Lindley 2), Stainforth climbed into fourth place after beating second-bottom Eden Grove 4-1.

Balby Academy of Sport retained top spot in the Championship on goal difference despite their home game against fourth-placed Leger Lions falling victim to a waterlogged pitch.

Armthorpe Albion’s 3-0 win took the wind out of Windmill’s sails.

Carpenters Arms won by the same score at Askern Railway thanks to goals by Sam Braun, Simon Robertshaw and Gary Frobisher.

Finnningley Athletic also posted a 3-0 win at Three Horseshoes.

Rossington United continue to set the pace at the top of Division One following their 5-2 win over Armthorpe Village, whose consolation goals came from Steven Wagstaff and Dan Bewley.

Rosehill Press, eight points adrift having played a game more, head the chasing group following their 4-1 win at bottom club South Kirkby Reds. Ryan Ambler claimed two of the goals with David Wheatley and Wayne Hoolihan also chipping in.

Walton Wonderers (Jacob Baker, Jamie Walker) stayed in touch at the top courtesy of a 2-0 win over Rossington Legion.

Campsall (Ashley Fowler, Mark Kearsley, Thomas Noon) climbed several places to fifth as a result of their 3-1 win over Bessacarr (Stan Krco).

The Askern moved level on points with FC Dunscroft, who stay top of Division Two on goal difference, after knocking the spots off fifth-placed Leopard when romping to a 7-1 win.

Gareth Davies bagged a brace for the winners with Gareth Gibson, Jason Hadwin, Jake Holdsworth, Kyle Embury also hitting the target.

Arskey Victoria’s 5-4 win over Ryecroft Rovers saw them remain four points clear in third place. Kevin Lynch stole the show for Arksey with a four-goal haul. Ryan Nicholson completed the scoring.

Fourth-placed Adam & Steve lost ground after going down 6-4 at Ivanhoe. Free-scoring David Colakovic notched a hat trick for the losers.

Schoolboy Norton again had their shooting boots on as they registered an 11-1 win over bottom club Balby Rovers.

Carl Hinsley hit a double as Balby CSV claimed a 4-1 win over Rhino’s Warriors. Adam Tyrer and Lee Stevens also netted for the home side with Scott Cross replying.

Warren House Warriors (Nathan Seaman, Tom Costello) came away from Balby Plough with a 2-0 win.

David Swift, Dale Daniels and Henry McSorley shared the goals as Scawthorpe sentenced visiting Bentley West End to a 3-0 defeat.
