We’ve got the S(harp) Factor and we’re on song right now

Wow, the Billy Sharp factor has definitely kicked in!

We took more than 1,600 fans across the Pennines to Blackpool last weekend.

It felt more like Ice Station Zebra on the coast with a biting wind cutting through you and it certainly did not allow good football to be played.

The elements meant the fans were looking to keep warm and with the joy of Billy’s big return, we sang, danced, clapped and beat the home fans in the noise stakes throughout, creating one of the best away atmospheres for a long time.

A draw was a fair result in the end and set us up nicely for the visit of Charlton on Tuesday.

We owed them one big time for the debacle of the abandoned game earlier in the season.

The truth is that Charlton never turned up and after Abdoulaye Meite got the first goal, we never looked back.

‘Shall we call it off for you?’ was a brilliant chant from the Rovers end.

The team just seems to be gelling at the moment.

James Coppinger has returned a new man, Mark Duffy is on fire, the back five look like they’ve played together for years and Chris Brown is as fine a centre forward playmaker as I have ever seen.

We should get another decent atmosphere at the Keepmoat this weekend with Middlesbrough expected to bring more than 4,000 down from Teesside.

The ‘Meet the Owners’ event on Monday night was interesting with a definite split in the camp between fans backing John Ryan and others getting behind Terry Bramall and Dick Watson.

Terry spoke of plans for the club, why they would not sell to Sequentia, the threat of administration remaining, plans for Club Doncaster and his desire to keep the club in the Championship.

He came across very well in my opinion and does seem to have the interests of the club at heart.

It’s down to us fans to support the club, get family and friends down and help us be successful.

Just a reminder, we’ve got three long away trips coming up over the next few weeks so please book early on the coaches.

For the Brighton trip coaches will depart between 7.45am and 8.30am. To book call me on 07961 727769.

Rovers ‘til I die.
