LEWIS Grabban has tipped Danny Schofield to be an instant success at Rotherham United.

The former Huddersfield and Yeovil player, who has joined the Millers on a free transfer from Millwall, is expected to shake off a toe infection and make his debut in the League Two curtain-raiser against Oxford on Saturday.

Striker Grabban is backing the winger to prove a major asset in Rotherham’s quest for promotion to League One.

Grabban said: “He is a class player and it is good to have him here. Danny strengthens the team and will definitely do damage to near enough every team who will be in this division.”

Morecambe have swooped for Nick Fenton. The experienced defender released by the Millers at the end of last season has penned a two-year contract at The Globe Arena.

Shrimps manager Jim Bentley said: “He is a leader and a real presence on the pitch.”
