Allied Travel Cup
MEXBOROUGH Premier Division champions-elect and Montagu Cup finalists Swinton WMC added another piece of silverware to the cabinet with a narrow 1-0 win over Westville in the Allied Travel Cup final.
Westville – who are set to join the Barnsley Sunday League next season – were the better of the two sides in the first half and were unlucky not to carry two or three goals into the break.
But the Swinton defence held strong, allowing them to go ahead before the break when Shaun Wilde scored.
Swinton played better football in the second half and held on to seal the victory.
The win sealed the first of six potential titles for Swinton this season.
