Scott is looking to add someone with experience to partner Cresswell at the back and help aid the 23-year-old Swinton native continue his development.

A reshuffle of the backroom staff has been completed with former caretaker manager Andy Liddell set to depart.

And Scott praised the coach.

He said: “Andy was fantastic for me last year and the transition coming in was seamless because of his work.

“I’d like to thank him for his efforts for the club.”

Scott confirmed Paul Warne will remain at the club as fitness coach.
