ROTHERHAM United manager Andy Scott is hoping the first blocks of his summer rebuilding effort will fall into place this week after offering six players new deals.

The Millers boss also opted to release another six players who were out of contract earlier this week, with experienced defender Nick Fenton the highest profile casualty.

Stephen Brogan, Luke Ashworth, Jamie Green, Kevin Ellison and Grant Darley have also been released, while midfielder Mark Bradley and striker Tom Pope have been made available for transfer.

The focus now turns to the group of six players currently contemplating new deals after coming to the end of their contracts.

Scott has spoken of his determination to pin down Ryan Taylor and Nicky Law to new deals, with both attracting attention from other clubs.
