WATH St James U18s sealed a club record third place finish in the Charles Rice Premier League after winning a 4-3 thriller at Wakefield Jets.

Alex Rowe latched onto a through ball from Kieron Hirst to drill into the bottom corner and open the scoring for the Saints.

Sam Levitt was unlucky to be penalised for handball early in the second half with the Jets levelling from the spot.

Wakefield then took the lead when a fine through ball sent their forward clear and he cooly finished past a stranded Jones.

Leading scorer Rowe drew Wath level as he cut in from the right and beat two men before smashing home from the edge of the box.

He then sealed his hat trick to put the Saints in front, collecting from Josh Bartle and finish with the outside of his foot.

With five minutes to go a defensive blunder from the Saints defence saw the Wakefield forward left one on one and he finished well.

But there was still time for drama as Rowe slung in a long throw that found Jack Waldron at the back post whose touch found Hirst to jink into space and finish with mere seconds to spare.
