THERE was a lot to prove for Wycombe this season after their relegation.
Sacking Peter Taylor looked like a mistake, as did replacement Gary Waddock’s decision to leave a rising Aldershot for a club on the downturn.
But the Chairboys are doing a good job showing those decision were right.
A relative shortage of goals and a leaky defence for their strong position may come back to haunt them, but if they beat the Millers it will strengthen the second place they took from them last weekend.
FORMER QPR midfielder Gary Waddock did not have the easiest start to managerial life when given a go at Loftus Road.
He was caretaker when Ian Holloway left a turbulent QPR in 2006 and was given the role permanently that summer.
But three months later he was sacked.
Waddock dropped into the Conference with Aldershot and took them to promotion in his first full season before guiding them to League Two safety the following year.
He failed to keep Wycombe in League One after switching last season but has made a fine start to his attempt at getting them back there.
