Rotherham United: Millers players ratings from the Norwich City clash

The Star’s Millers man, Paul Davis, gives his verdict on the performances at Carrow Road

Rotherham (4-4-1-1)

Lee Camp 6

Good save to keep out a Wes Hoolahan free header and nothing he could do to prevent the goals.

Greg Halford 6

Set up a first-half chance for Danny Ward with a good pass and stuck to his task against Norwich’s dangerous left flank.

Dael Fry 6

Still very young and the physical presence of Cameron Jerome troubled him at times.

Dominic Ball 5

Similar to Fry. Both are very decent on the ground but need to impose themselves on forwards more.

Darnell Fisher 8

Another excellent game from a mobile, attacking defender. Tackled well too, but clearing headers could have been better.

Jon Taylor 5

Rarely got the chance to use his pace down the right flank. Had a second-half goal disallowed for offside.

Lee Frecklington 6

Always puts in the yards and his harrassing caused Norwich to give up possession more than once.

Will Vaulks 5

Hasn’t got the pace of the Championship yet. Two poor passes contributed to Norwich’s second goal.

Joe Newell 5

Unable to impose himself on the Norwich defence and withdrawn for Dexter Blackstock on 70 minutes.

Izzy Brown 5

His least effective performance in a Millers shirt. Rotherham need their danger man to fire.

Danny Ward 6

Usual high workrate and one lovely through-ball very nearly played in Brown in the second half.

Substitutes

Dexter Blackstock 7

Scored four minutes after coming on and his physicality roughed up the home defence.

Jake Forster-Caskey

On in the 88th minute for Vaulks.

Scott Allan

On at the same time as Forster-Caskey, with Brown departing.

Subs not used: Price, Wilson, Mattock, Forde.
