Rose delight for Lions

DONCASTER’S Premier League footballer Danny Rose has admitted he would love to be playing for England when the under-19s side grace the Keepmoat Stadium.
The Young Lions will be hosting Denmark’s under-19s in a friendly which will mark the first time the Keepmoat has held an international fixture since Doncaster Rovers took over the management.
Tottenham’s Rose (left), who has become an instant hit since his loan move to Sunderland, has fond memories of playing on Doncaster’s hallowed turf in 2009 - the last time England’s under-19s were there. The ex-Danum pupil netted in a 2-0 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Balby star said it is a “great place” for the youngsters to play.
He said: “It’s a shame it’s not the under-21s playing there again, so I could be involved again, but it’s definitely something the players should be looking forward to.
“It’s a really nice stadium with a good pitch and is a good size for the under-19s.
“And I’m sure there will be a few fans there supporting them as well.
“Being a Doncaster lad, I would say that, but I have nothing but good memories of playing there with England.”
On his goal he added: “I was fortunate enough to play there when I was with the under-19s and was even lucky enough to score, which was great for me with a lot of family and friends at the game.
“I remember Nathan Delfouneso crossed it for me and I managed to get above the centre-half and head it in. I think that might be the only headed goal that I’ve ever scored in my career.”
The match kicks-off on Tuesday at 7.30pm.
