Sports writer Paul Goodwin gives his verdict on Saturday’s 1-1 draw.

DONCASTER ROVERS

Stuckmann 6 – Barely had a save to make and could do nothing about the controversial equaliser.

Evina 6 – Looked a little awkward playing on the right at times but got forward to good effect on a few occasions and showed plenty of willing.

Butler 7 – Took his goal really well and dealt with everything that Oldham’s albeit limited attack threw at him.

MacKenzie 6 - Quietly went about his business.

Taylor-Sinclair 5 - Underwhelming. Put one ball of note into the box first half but rarely got forward.

Coppinger 6 – Buzzed around and kept possession but was more effective when Wellens joined the fray. Made a pig’s ear of a decent first half chance.

Keegan 6 - Understandably looks short of match sharpness. Struggled to stamp any authority on the midfield.

Gobern 5 - No lack of effort but the game seemed to pass him by (sub Wellens 7 - busy on the ball, his introduction raised the whole tempo).

Stewart 6 - Drifted in and out of it. Too clever for himself at times, in terms of his trickery, but his set pieces were excellent. It was his freekick that led to the goal and he put another one on a plate for N’Guessan in the second half.

Main 5 – A player who perhaps epitomises Rovers’ lack of confidence. The ball bounced off him too many times and he did not get a sniff in front of goal.

Williams 5 – Injured early on (sub N’GUESSAN 7 - Put forward his case for a starting spot with a combative display. A handful physically, he’ll be disappointed not to have made more of two good chances after the break).

Oldham: Cornell 7, Dieng 5, J Wilson 6, Burn 6 (B Wilson 70), Brown 5, Croft 6, Jones 6, Winchester 6, Yeates 6 (Green 82), Philliskirk 5, Poleon 5 (Stankevicius 64, 5).
