Why, oh why, can we never perform in front of the television cameras?

Too many players had an off night at Middlesbrough and, with the loss of Richie Wellens in midfield, we just did not tick.

In parts we played some nice possession football but we never had that finishing touch.

Mark Duffy was probably the pick of the players, while Ross Turnbull again made some important saves.

But it was a fright night. I think we had Dracula in the back four, we just could not handle crosses.

The trip up to the Riverside was quiet easy so I was a bit disappointed that we only had 500 or so fans up there, although being on TV was obviously a contributing factor.

At least it’s Yeovil next on the box, and we always beat them (not).

This Saturday we welcome Brighton to the Keepmoat. They managed to get their game played on Monday night against Watford, the storm failing to disrupt the game.

Watford should have had all three points, after the officials failed to see the ball clearly crossing the goal line with the score 0-1.

Rovers and their fans have a strong affinity with the Seagulls fans.

They supported us in the dark days of Ken Richardson, protested with us, and we were the last team to play at the Goldstone Ground, and the first to play at the new Amex Stadium.

I hope their fans don’t have the same travel problem we did that day, it was like wacky races trying to find the routes open into Brighton as the M25 had been blocked all day.

Let’s hope we can blow the cobwebs away and get three points on the board.

Could fans travelling to Barnsley next Saturday please book on the supporters coaches before Sunday night if possible, or book through Len for this game.

I’m off on my jollies but I’ve made sure I’m back for the Dingles game!

The Supporters’ Club are hoping to have a night at Stainforth dogs on Friday, November 15.

For this and bus details phone Paul on 07961 727769 or Len on 01302 817347.

Enjoy the game.
