McEwan hits a hat-trick as Hatfield move up

WITH most teams engaged in county cup competitions Premier Division Hatfield Main moved into third place in the Doncaster Senior League Premier Division with a 6-0 win at Swinton Station Athletic.

Gary Eades was Main’s hat-trick hero with Kevin McEwen and Alex Moscardini also on target.

Nathan Lovell bagged four of the goals, with Bret Oxer chipping in with a double, as AFC Sportsman Rovers won 6-2 at Bawtry Town, for whom Jack Burton and Lee Garner netted.

Ackworth United posted a 5-2 Division One win at Askern Athletic. Ashley Wilson and Jake Holdsworth shared out the Askern goals.

A Carl Grant hat-trick, and a pair from Kieran Sanderson, gave Dunscroft United a 5-2 win over Bawtry Town Reserves. Ben Leather grabbed both Town’s consolations.

Goals by Agnelli Fadiga and Paul Benfield gave HMP Moorland a 2-1 win over Sun FC (Brad Atherton).

Rossington Main continued their unbeaten run with a 6-1 win at Kiveton Park in their Sheffield & Hallamshire Cup.

Matthew Brown, Niall Doyle, Nathan Fraser, Dean Griffiths, Scott Maughan and Sean Nicholls were all on target for the Premier Division leaders.

Kinsley Boys beat Carcroft Village 3-1 in an all-Senior League tie. Josh Appleton bagged a brace for the winners with Joel Edwards also scoring. Chris Hancock scored the Carcroft consolation.

Goals by Thompson 2, and Jamie Woodhall were not enough as Brodsworth Welfare went down 8-3 to Worsbrough Bridge Athletic.

Edlington Town had to settle for a Peter Dawson consolation as they crashed 6-1 at Boynton Sports.

Hemsworth MW lost 4-3 to Clowne Villa.

Harworth Colliery Institute progressed with a 2-1 win over visiting Hemsworth Town.

South Kirkby Town progressed in the Junior Challenge Cup with a 2-1 win over Ardsley Athletic.

Highwayman lost 1-0 at Bullcroft Sports & Pastimes.

Strikes from Adam Fretwell and Ben Pearson gave Shafton Villa a 2-1 win at Cumberworth.

ISG Doncaster enjoyed a 2-1 win over Hepworth United thanks to goals by Robert Lendzioszek and Marek Szeszol.

It took penalties to decide the fate of Bramley Sunnyside after their match against Jack In A Box finished 6-6 after extra time. Tom Salt and Ian Donnelly both bagged a brace with Mat Crookes and Ryan Smyth rounding off the scoring for Bramley who progressed 4-2 on in penalties.

Denaby United hotshot Ryan Oakley scored seven of the goals in the 10-5 win over Mosborough Trinity.

Michael Russon, Matthew Cocksedge and Daniel Noonan completed the tally.

A David Clifton strike for Scawthorpe & Bentley Rhinos was not enough as Queens Head Ridgeway won 5-1.

Woodlands Rhinos (Joel Smith) bowed out 5-1 against Shelley.
