Sorik hits six as Edlington go on a 12-goal spree

YORKSHIRE Main reached the second round of the Doncaster & District FA Challenge Cup with a 2-1 win at Bawtry Town, for whom Philip Colton netted.

Josh Critchley and Nathan Lovell gave AFC Sportsman a 2-1 Doncaster Senior League Premier Division home win over South Elmsall United (David Rogerson).

Matthew Brunyee 2, and Tom Salt, earned Bramley Sunnyside a 3-2 win at Hemsworth Town.

Brodsworth Welfare had to settle for a consolation goal by Aaron Strutt when going down 3-1 at Kinsley Boys (Joel Edwards 2, Luke Hindmarsh).

A six-goal haul by Sorik Malcolm laid the foundations for Edlington Town’s 12-2 win at at South Kirkby. Adam Harle added a hat-trick and there were single strikes by Reece Joslin, Daniel Billing and Craig Dyson.

A Ben Leather brace secured Bawtry Town Reserves a 2-1 Division One win over Woodlands Rhinos with Simon Squires replying.

Jason Astphall helped himself to three of the goals in Denaby United’s 4-0 win over Askern Athletic. Ryan Oakley completed the comfortable win.

Shafton Villa (Chris Glocer 2, Spencer Clarke, Adam Fretwell, Ryan Butcher) posted a 5-0 win at Hemsworth MW.

Highwayman (Matthew Riley 2, Emmanuel Bockaire, Sulaiman Deeks-Massasoi) beat Dunscroft United 4-1 at home.

Goals by Joe Hodgson, Steve Athey, Dean Daffin and Liam Kentish earned Scawthorpe and Bentley Rhinos a 4-0 win over Sun.

South Kirkby Town and ISG Doncaster battled out a 1-1 draw.

Rossington Main went out in the Sheffield & Hallamshire FA Cup quarter-final stage, going down 2-1 at Crofton Sports.

Kevin McEwan scored the only goal of the game against AFC Woodlands to steer Hatfield Main into the final of the Goole & Thorne District Cup where they will meet Sutton Rovers (Ryan Walker, Mick Leightley) who beat Thorne Colliery 2-0 in their semi.
