Home sweet home as Denaby win United battle

DENABY United maintained their promise in the Premier Division of the Doncaster Senior League with a 4-1 home victory over South Elmsall United Services.

Enzo Guarini, Ashley Cantrell, Ryan Oakley and Regan Kelly, were the United marksmen, Mark McDermott replying. A brace of goals each from Tom Salt and Ryan Smyth put Bramley Sunnyside on the way to a 5-1 success at Scawthorpe and Bentley Rhinos, James Askwith completing the nap hand.

Lee Bennett grabbed a hat-trick as Shafton Villa came out on top 4-1 in the battle with fellow pacemakers Rossington Main, Ben Pearson also finding the net, while Nathan Frazer reduced the arrears. Goals from Sean Hammonds and Joe Howey helped Kinsley Boys beat derby rivals South Kirkby Colliery 2-0.

A seven-goal haul by Craig Hobson laid the foundations for South Kirkby Town’s 9-3 rout of Division One rivals 9-3 at FC Central.

Dunscroft United beat Bawtry Town Reserves by the odd goal in five. Luke Crompton, Kieran Sanderson and Nick Davies netted for United with Luke Walker and Ian Horsman narrowing the gap.

An own goal helped Hemsworth MW account for Ackworth United 3-1, Mustapha Cham and Graham Phillips also scoring, Stuart Gordon replying.

Newcomers Rovers Foundation had a 4-1 success at The Soldiers in the Sheffiel;d and Hallamshire FA Junior Cup, Nathan Wroe bagged a brace with Kieran Higgins and Jordan Catnott doubling their tally.

A Joe Dungworth strike could not save Denaby Main from a 3-1 defeat at The Birley.

Harworth Colliery lost 6-1 at Beighton Falcons, while Malty beat Westwoodside Rangers 5-3.
