Allinson brace as Leger creep up on the rails

DONCASTER Sunday Alliance League Division Three leaders Balby Academy of Sport were made to work hard for their 1-0 win over bottom club Hatfield Chace.

Second-placed Leger Lions kept up the pressure with a 3-2 win over Horse & Groom Town. Nathan Allinson bagged a brace for the winners with Clarke also chipping in with a goal. Reece Pegden scored both Town goals.

Terry McCondle was the hat-trick hero of Maltings’ 3-2 win at Waggies. Jamie McGee also chipped in for the visitors, for whom Josh Winter and Ellis Donnelly netted.

Ingram Arms (Ryan Dewsnap, Tony Steers) lost ground after being held to a 2-2 draw by White Hart Colts (Matthew Harriman, own goal).

Tank charged to a 7-1 win over Grove Carvery. South Kirkby Colliery also had their shooting boots on away at Armthorpe Village, where they won 8-2.

Jordan Hicking led the way with a hat-trick with Myles Cleland and Steven Dawson both hitting a double. Dale Walker completed the rout.

Balby Rovers beat fellow Division Four strugglers The Bay Horse 8-2. Hesley lost 4-2 at Campsall.

Doubles by Andy Culshaw and Luke Wilkinson and a single strike by Phil Pendlebury secured Rossington United a 5-2 win at FC Cumberland, for whom Craig Atkins scored both consolation goals.

Harvester had to settle for consolation goals by Richard Nehls and Shane Anderton in their 4-2 home defeat against Bessacarr.

Willaspoons, who have two games in hand, kept in touch with Division Five leaders Crown Hotel, who received a walkover against Barnby Dun All Stars, after beating Balby Rec 4-1.

Lee Dixon, Liam McCarthy, Brian Clarke and Billy Kirkham shared out the goals.

Inter-Debs handed out a 6-0 beating to The Askern. Richard Crawforth helped himself to two of the goals with Martin Stevens, Adam Armstrong, Paul Nicholson and Scott Graham also netting.

FC Ivanhoe picked up their fourth win of the season (3-0) away at bottom club M25.

Rossington Poacher crashed 6-0 at home to The Vault in what was their last game before disbanding.

Walton Wanderers won 4-1 away to The New Railway Tavern.
