BALBY Academy of Sport retained top spot in Division One of the Doncaster Sunday Alliance League on goal difference despite losing their 100 per cent record (3-2) at home to Armthorpe Albion.

Tank beat Askern Railway4-3. South Kirby Colliery still finished up on the losing end (7-5) despite scoring five goals away at Auckley. Leger Lions roared to a 6-0 win over FC Gatehouse on the back of goals by Michael Christer (2), Ryan Fletcher (2) and Chris Barker and Ryan Wattam.

A Sam Corner hat-trick laid the foundations for Skellow Rangers’ 6-1 win at Rosehill Press (Ryan Ambler). Mike Astbury (2) and Anthony Corner also netted.

Three Horsehoes United won 3-1 at Tap Maker. Bessacarr romped to an 11-0 Division Two win at Hatfield Woodhouse. James Sharp led the way with a hat-trick with Thomas McGilveray (2), Ryan Bullock, Dom McGough, James Batton, Jonathan James and Oliver White also netting.

A brace by John Geddes failed to save Rossington Legion from a 3-2 home defeat against Campsall, whose goals came from Adrian Parker, Kristian Robson and Ashley Towler. FC Cumberland (Jordan Smith, Darren Erskine) drew 2-2 with Hatfield Town. A Shane Carver brace and a Daniel Falkiner goal earned Carcroft Village 3-2 win over Three Horseshoes Old Boys.

The Askern put Division Three rivals Sun Inn in the shade, dishing out a 5-1 beating courtesy of goals by Sam Gilleece, Lewis McCloy, Ryan Laverick, Robbie Rowland and Joel Spillane. James Bytheway scored the Sun consolation. Michael Curtis, Gareth Davies, Mark Kearsley and Andew Darville shared out the goals in Crown Hotel’s 4-1 win over Bailey’s.

Balby Rovers put FC Ivanhoe to the sword, scoring six without reply. Thomas Jepson scored three of the goals with Steven Shackleton, Mark Barkham and an own goal completing their tally. The Vault, for whom Andrew Lilley, Sam Weston, Robert Burton, Joe Byron and Lee Dennis netted, posted a 5-0 win over Balby Rec.

Harvester lost 7-2 at Walton Wanderers. Daniel Smith (2) and Paul Kostyszyn secured Willaspoons a 3-1 win over Hesley. Division Four leaders Cask Corner (Phillip Kenyon, Peter Long, Mathew Linley, Lee Parker, own goal) recorded a 5-1 win over Balby CSV (Mathew Bradley). Rycroft Rovers climbed into second place with a 14-0 win over Bay Horse Misfits.

Chris Hancock scored seven of the goals with Jaydon Dennison (2), Gareth Gibson (2), Jake Holdsworth, Dean Humble and Tom Costello also chipping in with goals. Windmill beat Arskey Victoria 3-0.
