Ben Pringle, a double-promotion hero with Rotherham United, has signed for Fulham on a free transfer this afternoon.

Pringle, who joined the Millers from Derby in 2011 and made 146 league appearances, left the New York Stadium after turning down a new contract, citing the need for a fresh challenge.

The 26-year-old was man of the match for the Millers’ in their 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage back in April and he said: “I’m buzzing to have joined Fulham.

“As soon as I knew that there was interest from Fulham I wanted to come here straight away.

“You just have to look at the size of the club and where they’ve been in the past – hopefully we can get there again before too long.

“I like to think I’ll bring energy to the team. I try to make things happen, I can cross a ball okay and try to get in little pockets.”

Pringle, alongside former Preston goalkeeper Andy Lonergan, has signed a two-year deal, with the option of a third.

Pringle, born in Newcastle, played for the famous Wallsend Boys Club, before joining West Bromwich Albion. He later moved to non-League Ilkeston Town, before joining Derby County in July 2009.
