Football: Harworth suffer 3-2 defeat

Harworth Colliery lost out by the odd goal in five at home to Westella Hanson in their Central Midlands League Premier Division top-four clash.

The unbeaten visitors moved clear at the top following their ninth win in 10 games with Harworth dropping a place down to fourth.

Askern, who took a point off derby rivals Thorne Colliery in midweek, lost out in a high-scoring 6-4 defeat at Phoenix, 1-0 winners at Bentley Colliery last time out.

Colliery’s run of defeats continued when being beaten 4-2 away to Kinsley Boys.

Brodsworth Welfare’s game at Sherwood Colliery was called off as was Thorne Colliery’s trip to Thoresby.
