Rotherham United boss Steve Evans is confident that his injury-ravaged squad can still achieve promotion to League One this term.
Evans, who was without Claude Davis, Lee Frecklington and Liam Ridehaigh for Tuesday night’s game against Exeter at the New York Stadium, knows his side can ill-afford to drop many more points if they are to mount a late challenge for the League Two automatic promotion places.
More realistically, Rotherham may have to negotiate the Play-Offs if they are to be operating at League One level next term, and Evans said: “We have five matches left and I really still believe we can win promotion There are a few twists and turns yet.
“We all need to stay focused and, at the end of the season believe we have done everything we could have to achieve what we all want.
“The real season has started now - let’s go forward and achieve the ultimate prize.”
