Rotherham United manager Steve Evans has received a boost ahead of Saturday’s trip to Cheltenham, after the return of defender Craig Morgan.
Morgan has been absent since November after breaking his ankle - but the man Evans rates as “one of the best defenders outside the Championship” is nearing a return to full fitness.
Evans, who this week sanctioned the loan move of Mitchell Rose to Evo-Stik League outfit Stamford AFC, is also awaiting the results of an X-ray on Mark Bradley’s ankle.
The severity of Bradley’s injury could impact on whether or not Evans goes through with a deal for two Championship players he had lined up.
Speaking on Sunday, Evans said: “The two players would add something to what we have for sure, but you learn in this game not to think any player has joined you until all the formalities have been completed.”
The pair are thought to be a striker and a left-sided player, but Evans may have to bring in defensive cover instead.
