DONCASTER Rovers have confirmed the release of all players whose contracts will expire at the end of next month.

This list includes first team regulars Simon Gillett, Sam Hird, Adam Lockwood, James Hayter and John Oster.

However, talks over new deals are on-going with several of the 12 players set to depart.

Potential deals are only likely to happen if some of the 13 players still under contract leave the Keepmoat.

Dean Saunders last month confirmed that even with a 13 man squad, the current wage bill would be at least £1m overbudget.

Short term deals with El Hadji Diouf, Pascal Chimbonda, Habib Bamogo and Mamadou Bagayoko have also ended.

The only deals confirmed to have been offered by Saunders are professional contracts for youth team players Jordan Ball, Jonathan Maxted, Andrew McCormick, Patrick Mullen and Liam Wakefield.

Retained players: Kyle Bennett, James Husband, Gary Woods, Habib Beye, Chris Brown, James Coppinger, George Friend, Shelton Martis, James O’Connor, Tommy Spurr, Brian Stock, Neil Sullivan, Martin Woods.

Released players: James Baxendale, Rachid Bouhenna, James Chambers, Mustapha Dumbuya, Simon Gillett, James Hayter, Sam Hird, Paul Keegan, Adam Lockwood, John Oster, Damien Plessis, Fabien Robert.
