No deal for Sammy Clingan
NO DEAL: Sammy Clingan will not sign a new contract with Doncaster Rovers following the end of his short term deal.
MIDFIELDER Sammy Clingan will not extend his short term contract with Doncaster Rovers, Dean Saunders has confirmed.
The former Coventry City man has left the club after his deal expired this week.
Saunders said: “We’re not re-signing Sammy Clingan.
“I’ve only got so many salaries I can use and I’ve just decided we’re going to go down a different route with that one.
“At the moment I just see my priorities in different places.”
Saunders expects full back Andy Griffin to sign a contract over the next few days.
“I’ve more or less agreed something with Griff, we’ve just to agree on the figures,” he said.
Griffin has been on a pay-per-appearance deal but has been handed the opportunity to sign a full deal.
Saunders also says he is close to agreeing a permanent deal for striker Iain Hume.
