DONCASTER Rovers will get their kicks from a very different sporting challenge this weekend.

Rovers will face Doncaster Town Cricket Club in their annual Town Field Twenty20 match on Sunday.

Chairman John Ryan is expected to don his whites when Rovers look to avenge their narrow four-run defeat last year.

Tommy Spurr was the star of the show on that occasion with a swashbuckling innings of 55.

But he could be outshone this time by new signing Dave Syers, who played Bradford League cricket during his time at Bradford City.

Dean Saunders is also expected to play for Rovers.

Gates open at noon, with the match starting at 2pm. There will be a barbecue and music backdrop.

Entry is £1 and car parking costs £5.
