THE Keepmoat Stadium will play host to an England U19 international early next year.

England will face Denmark in Doncaster on Tuesday, February 5 (7.30pm) in preparation for the next qualifying stage of the European Championships.

The friendly clash will be the first international fixture to be held at the Keepmoat since Doncaster Rovers took over the management of the stadium.

Rovers chief executive Gavin Baldwin said: “We’re delighted to have secured an England game for the Keepmoat Stadium and are pleased to be welcoming the FA back to Doncaster.

“We remain committed to ensuring the Keepmoat Stadium is a multi-purpose facility that can be used by all and hope that football fans from across South Yorkshire and further afield will come out to support our young England team.”

England’s U19s were last at the Keepmoat in 2009 when they beat Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-0 in an Elite Round Qualifier, with Doncaster-born Danny Rose scoring the winner.

The Keepmoat Stadium also hosted England’s U21s in March 2010 and England’s Women’s team in November 2011.

Noel Blake’s U19 side will find out who they face in the European Elite Qualifying Round next week.

The Young Lions finished this year with a 1-0 victory over Finland, after topping their First Qualifying Round group.
