DONCASTER Rovers boss Dean Saunders lists Sheffield United as one of his former clubs and given the popularity he enjoyed during his time at Bramall Lane, he can expect a warm welcome from Blades’ fans in tonight’s League One derby.

“I had a great time there and we had a really good team,” said the Welshman, who averaged almost a goal every two games for the Blades during his time at the club despite being in his early 30s at the time.

“I played for them in some really big games, such as play-off matches and an FA Cup semi-final against Newcastle at Old Trafford, which we lost 1-0,” he told the Star.

“I’ve said to the players that I can go back to all the clubs I played for and get a nice reception because I always tried. If you try then the fans are always with you.”
