Doncaster Rovers aim to end on a high
DONCASTER Rovers will hope to finish what has been a roller-coaster of a year on a high in tomorrow’s League One clash against Preston North End at Deepdale.
Rovers will certainly not lack motivation according to joint-leading scorer David Cotterill.
“We owe them one after the 3-1 defeat at the Keepmoat Stadium earlier in the season,” said the Welsh international.
Until the recent 4-1 defeat at home to Coventry, it was the club’s biggest reversal of the season. “We had an off-day and it was a disappointing result and, as I say, we have a score to settle so hopefully we can go there and pick up three points,” said Cotterill.
“They are a well-drilled side and they work a lot on set pieces and I think that is what did us in the home game that night. It was a bit of a surprise really because over the first half of the season we’ve looked solid in that aspect of our game.
“But although they are also a big, strong physical team - and we’ll have to match them in that respect at Deepdale - I don’t think that they caused us too many problems apart from set-pieces.”
