Chesterfield test for Doncaster Rovers
Johnstone's Paint Trophy logo
ROVERS will host holders Chesterfield in their first Johnstone’s Paint Trophy match in five years.
After being handed a bye in the first round, Rovers will welcome the Spireites in a battle for former trophy winners at the Keepmoat.
The game will also see acquaintances renewed with ex-Rovers defender Sam Hird, now skipper of the League Two side.
Chesterfield saw off Oldham Athletic 2-1 in the first round.
The Spireites are currently without a manager following the sacking of John Sheridan after a winless start to the season.
The tie will be played during the week commencing October 8.
