NOTTINGHAM Forest seemed destined for another round in the play offs, their recent decline mirroring that of last season which took them from promotion certs to late stutterers
The home form has continued to be strong with last Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Hull their first of the season.
But that defeat was part of a run of four games without victory which has seen Forest drop below the two South Wales clubs in the Championship pecking order.
DESPITE a lot of success on the field, Billy Davies has hardly enjoyed the easiest of rides while Forest boss.
Dirty laundry has been aired in public with the 46-year-old making no secret of his disagreements with the Forest board, particularly over recruitment policy.
It seems as though the results Davies’ has achieved help maintain the uneasy balance, with only six defeats in the 51 home games he has taken charge of.
But the pressure may increase on the former Dunfermline and Motherwell midfielder to breaking point if Forest miss out on promotion this term.
