This one’s for you.
That was Paul Dickov’s battle cry on the eve of the first South Yorkshire derby of the season.
Rovers make the short trip to Hillsborough to face win-less Sheffield Wednesday hoping to make it four successive wins against the Owls.
And nothing would give Dickov more pleasure than rewarding Doncaster’s loyal band of travelling fans with another derby win.
“Derby games, regardless of how many you’ve got, or who it’s against, are games you want to win for the fans,” said Dickov.
“We’ll have a good following there and our away following this season has been absolutely fantastic.
“We want to make sure we go there and put in a performance, pick up the points and give our fans some bragging rights as well.”
Meanwhile, Rovers loan star Federico Macheda will this weekend face another side who were interested in signing him.
“It wasn’t just Sheffield Wednesday interested,” said Dickov.
“I said when we first signed him we were lucky to have him because there were a lot of clubs who wanted his signature.
“He’s made the decision to come here because he felt it was the right move for him, and that we play the sort of style to suit his game.
“Regardless of who tried to sign him, he knows, and I know, it’s going to be a tough game on Saturday.”
