Doncaster Rovers have issued another statement on John Ryan’s resignation - confirming that he has quit as chairman and a director.
Ryan reacted furiously on Tuesday night when a statement appeared on Rovers’ official website claiming he was still a director and was still “very much involved with the club’s activities moving forward”.
In a new statement, released on Wednesday afternoon, a spokesperson for Doncaster Rovers said: “Following the statement that DRFC issued yesterday regarding John Ryan’s position on the board of directors, which was accurate of at the time of being issued, there has now been further developments.
“Within the last 24 hours John Ryan’s full resignation papers as both Chairman and Director at DRFC have been sent to Companies House.
“Therefore we can now confirm that John Ryan is no longer on the board of directors at Doncaster Rovers FC.
“Once again, everyone at the club would like to thank John for the outstanding work he has done as Chairman and for his hard work and efforts through the years.
“We hope he will remain a close friend of the Club and continue to show his support for Doncaster Rovers.”
