Paul Dickov has praised his side - from front to back - for battening down the hatches in impressive fashion.
Scrooge-like Rovers kept three successive clean sheets over the festive period against Swindon, Coventry City and Peterborough.
And Dickov, who this week was keen to pay tribute to the defensive effort of his whole team and not just the back five, will hope that run continues tomorrow when Rovers aim to shut out League One leaders Bristol City in the third round of the FA Cup.
“Defensively we’re looking really good at the moment, and we’re looking dangerous on the break, so it should be a good game against a really good team,” said Dickov.
“It’ll be a good test for us.
“We’ve kept three clean sheets in a row and that’s credit to all of the players.
“It’s not just the back five, it starts from Theo [Robinson] working his socks off up front. The lads in the middle have been doing their jobs as well.
“I’ve always said, if you keep clean sheets you’ve got a chance. It’s not rocket science.”
Dickov will check on the fitness of Richie Wellens (hamstring), Nathan Tyson (calf) and Harry Forrester (knee) before finalising his squad.
