Legia Warsaw are said to be interested in signing Gabriel Tamas.
Tamas will become a free agent this summer and the Polish champions are reportedly considering a move for the 30-year-old defender.
According to reports in Tamas’ homeland of Romania, Warsaw want to sign Polish international defender Piotr Celeban but have earmarked the Rovers man as an alternative option.
Tamas joined Doncaster on a six-month deal in January on very basic terms in a bid to revive his career.
Prior to his arrival at Rovers, the former Galatasaray, Spartak Moscow and West Brom player had has contract ripped up at CFR Cluj following an off the field indiscretion.
His short time at Doncaster has not been short of controversy either, after he suffered a fractured cheekbone in a nightclub fracas in March.
Tamas earned rave reviews for his display in Monday’s 0-0 draw at Millwall.
However, he is unlikely to stick around if Rovers are relegated - and should Doncaster avoid the drop he will almost certainly demand improved terms.
Tamas has also been linked with a move to Scottish League One champions Rangers.
Earlier this year reports in Romania suggested he had held talks about a summer switch to Ibrox.
