DONCASTER Rovers’ boss Dean Saunders has offered 21-year-old prospect Kyle Bennett a new contract.

Bennett starred in last night’s pre-season friendly against Hull City where Rovers came from 1-0 down to win 3-1 and claim their first win in four games.

Saunders said after the game that he had offered Bennett a new contract, which his repreentatives are studying.

The game marked the debut of former Sheffield Wednesday skipper Rob Jones and Saunders hinted that there could be more signings on the way.

“We’ve got some offers in for two or three of our players. We haven’t accepted them yet; we are trying to get a bit more money.

“I’ve got replacements lined up. We need people who want to fight and people who want to battle.”
