Paul Dickov wants other managers to stop being so complimentary about his Rovers side.

Dickov believes his fellow bosses would be far slower to praise his side if they had finished on the losing end of encounter.

“I went to the Nottingham Forest and Leicester game on Wednesday night and plenty of managers and coaches came up and were full of praise for how we were playing,” Dickov said.

“I’d much rather they weren’t so complimentary and we’d picked up more points.

“I don’t think they would be so happy to praise us if we were higher in the table.

“What it does show is that we are playing well and we’re not far away from picking up more points.

“In that situation we wouldn’t need any compliments. We’d be happy with the amount of points we’d got.”

Dickov was in a mood to offer praise himself in the build-up to this afternoon’s visit to Yeovil.

The Rovers boss praised Theo Robinson for his hard work in returning from injury and hinted the striker could be involved at Huish Park today.

Robinson returned to full training on Thursday, seven weeks after injuring his knee during Rovers’ defeat at Queens Park Rangers.

“There’s a slight little inkling of involving Theo,” Dickov said.

“He’s been working really hard, to the extent that he’s absolutely shattered.

“With Billy Sharp being out, Theo coming back is a big boost for us.

“In his last game for us against QPR he showed exactly what type of player he is.”
